Apple has announced a new set of updates for its professional Logic Pro X music software. Special emphasis is placed on extending the DAW software’s intelligent tempo feature, which automatically detects the tempo throughout the project.
Intelligent tempo could previously only be used when recording audio in Logic Pro X. Now it can also analyze the tempo of recorded MIDI performance and imported multitrack roots, track or set the existing tempo of a project. The original addition of Smart Tempo proved extremely useful, as it avoided manually adjusting tempo changes and wasting time quantifying all audio recordings.
A lot of attention is given to broaden the DAW SMART TEMPO function
In addition, with this new version of Logic Pro X, your sound library can be moved to an external storage device and a photo attached to a track or project notes to help you memorize important details. Alchemy, a synth acquired by Apple in 2015, has undergone many adjustments. For example, the commands of the unused modules are now dimmed and the synthesizer allows the numerical editing of the parameter values.
There are also many new updates for MainStage, a kind of application for Logic. MainStage has a lot in common with Logic, but it is more suited to live performance than studio. This version of MainStage offers over 800 additional loops in various instruments and genres, the ability to add text notes to the bottom of channel strips, and incorporates the ChromaVerb algorithmic reverb introduced in Logic Pro X earlier this year.
These are just a few of the updates on the list of all the pieces of the software. For a complete list of new features in Logic and MainStage, visit the Apple Support pages.
